No Description It’s not just Pixar and Dreamworks that are peddling Stereo 3D. Interest is across a range of media, with serious backers like BSkyB, Sony and Blitz Games creating product. To these movers and shakers there’s a critical mass coming, and it’ll be on your screen whether you are a gamer, telly addict or avid cinema-goer. We talk to some of these content creators and ask them to give their first-hand experience of making content, and get them to explain why S3D is taking off now, and the challenges it presents to film-makers and animators.

This session includes short presentations and a roundtable discussion, and intends to present a snapshot of Stereo 3D development across a number of media. It’ll be of interest both to students and media professionals interested in engaging with S3D.

The discussion will ask: is it more than a gimmick this time? What’s triggering Stereo 3D’s re-emergence? What new technical and conceptual skills are needed to create engaging Stereo 3D? As well as recounting their own personal journeys into S3D our panel will also give insights into how you plan, script, storyboard and create work to exploit this new technology.
